Vintage Fedora Via Ebay
One of my favorite blogs has just posted a nicely written bit of wisdom on being thrifty. Perfect timing as the holiday shopping frenzy is upon us. Read up, then head on over to Crossroads Trading Co. or Buffalo Exchange (my personal favorites) if your in Chicago, if not, ebay is a great place to find cheap treasures.

Montreal & Toronto-based animators La Mostache made a short animated doc on the tar sands of Alberta and sheds light on some unfair trade agreements between the US and Canada. We’ve got to start treating our neighbors better folks!

Columbia’s Media Production Center, designed by the infamous architect firm Studio Gang (I’m a big fan of the Ford Calument Enviornmental Center ) , launches this spring, and judging from the info from the sustainability section on the website, it looks to be a big step in the right direction for any future construction efforts. The building utilizes everything from pre-case concrete panels that remove the need for wood framing and reduce maintenance + noise to a partial green roof that also functions as a space for social events. This building is pretty much tricked out when it comes to green tech, and it makes me proud to be a student at Columbia.

Normal Rockwell's classic potrayal of the typical American Thanksgiving dinner.
Don’t miss Planet Green’s article about how to discuss pressing, ’sensitive’, topics over Thanks dinner with those planet warming denying, meat eating, car driving, fauxhemian relatives of yours. Take a gander, and don’t forget to pass that organic vegan gravy!
Bonus: Don’t pass up on watching the Ed. Burroughs Thanksgiving Prayer, it is a true classic!
