Featured Highlights October

october 520x385 Featured Highlights October

Last month we had a bunch of first posts and I want you make sure you kids had a chance to read them all. Thanks again to all our contributors for all their help! They spent a lot of time writing these so show them some love by writing a comment and bookmarking their articles on Digg and Delicious!

Lyndsey Tonyan covered the controversy on antibiotics and industrial cattle farms. Make sure you also read the Time article covering the entire meat industry.

Neale Baldyga talked about the benifits of buying local and it comes with a nifty farmer’s market and csa location guide.

John Wawwrzaszek explained how Chicago’s blue bin recycling system works and also made a location guide of recycling centers and drop offs.

Sofia Leiby showed us a cool art exhibit in Chicago celebrating organic farming, at Keep Calm Gallery!

And last but definitely not least, Amy Wainwright’s awesome article on what you get with your CSA boxes from just a week ago!

Thanks again to all our guest authors; looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with this month! Feel free to contact me if any readers want to pitch in and contribute as well.

Because this is a large initial investment, my husband and I share our box with another couple. We subscribe through Angelic Organics, and they have done everything possible to make sure that we enjoy our weekly produce. At the beginning of the season we received a cookbook that is specific to the farm and the produce they grow and every week we receive emails that let us know what will be in our box including even more possible recipes to use.
